Erin Fry-Lawton MA, LMHC

Owner and Therapist

Erin is a Michigan City native educated at Loyola University Chicago and the University of South Florida. She holds bachelor's degrees in both Psychology and Women and Gender Studies as well as a master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. She has served children, teens, adults, couples, and families for over a decade as a clinician and in various leadership roles providing clinical supervision for therapists and Master’s level interns. She greatly enjoys engaging in mentorship roles with new mental health professionals who are finding their voices in the field and are eager to help others. She serves as vice president on the board of directors of Indiana Guardianship Services, an organization which advocates for elderly and incapacitated adults in LaPorte and Porter Counties. She has extensive experience treating complex childhood trauma, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, survivors of domestic violence, grief, women’s health issues, and mood disorders in particular, but is comfortable with assessing and treating numerous other conditions of both childhood and adulthood.

Erin began her clinical career in 2011 performing individual, family, and group therapy with a focus on cognitive behavioral techniques and art therapy at an inpatient substance abuse facility for adult women in Tampa, Florida. Before entering the world of private practice, she worked as a clinician and later as the clinical manager offering home-based social work in the realm of juvenile justice and worked closely with the Indiana Department of Child Services and several juvenile probation departments. In her capacity as a clinical manager, she developed an agency-wide model for risk assessment and crisis response that was implemented across multiple counties in northern Indiana in conjunction with a 24/7 crisis hotline and trained local youth workers at both the bachelor’s and master’s degree levels on this model. Additionally, Erin regularly trained colleagues in domestic violence awareness, trauma informed care, parenting education curricula, and evidence-based practices for children and adolescents.

Erin is an avid practitioner of yin yoga, a runner who enjoys (pretty slowly) completing 5k races in the community, a decent baker, and a proud wife and mother of two. She is ready and privileged to assist you and your loved ones in determining where more health and healing can enter your life today!
